Nexus’ team attended BioTechX Europe from the 4th to the 6th of October, in Basel
Marcella Chiari, NEXUS coordinator and Natasa Zarovni, Innovation manager, represented the project in one of the largest EU biotech congress, an event that brings together professionals and innovators from pharma and healthcare, as well as academia and clinic.
BioTechX consisted in three full days of plenary and track sessions focused on diagnostics, precision medicine and digital transformation, but provided also the team with insights about new buzz topics such as quantum technologies, and cheminformatics.
Marcella Chiari was one of the speakers in the session of novel technologies in Liquid Biopsy in Cancer and Transplantation management. Her talk, “Flexible digital sensing platforms enabling high value diagnostic applications of Liquid Biopsies” introduced exosomes and digital microarrays as a viable and unique alternative to other methodologies presented by co-speakers such as cell free DNA or methylome.
In terms of networking, the event was the setting for a few programmed and ad-hoc meetings 1to1 that may led to new collaborations, and new ideas, as well as new opportunity to confront Nexus’ innovative solutions with other cutting-edge innovations and understand where the challenges lie and where the health industry is heading.
