CNR is the major public research body of Italy. The Institute of Chemical Sciences and Technologies “G.Natta” (SCITEC) employs 100 scientists and technicians. The Analytical Microsystem lab is a research team with expertise in surface modification of miniaturized analytical systems and innovative bioassays proved by several patents and publications in the field. The group has a laboratory dedicated to the development of innovative materials, systems and methodologies for the study of Extracellular Vesicles (EVs). CNR will develop the chemistry and biochemistry for reversible capture and carry out the technical validation for the detection system.
IRIS Kinetics Inc, founded in 2019, specializes in the development of systems to leverage the benefits of the interferometric reflectance imaging sensor (IRIS) technology, developed at Boston University in Selim Ünlü research group. IRISKinetics has successfully translated the benchtop prototype developed by Ünlü research group into a commercial instrument for multiplexed label-free binding kinetics of biomolecular interactions. IRIS will design, develop, and integrate the modular automated instrument.
Day One is an Innovation Studio where research is transformed into products capable of generating economic and social impact. Day One teams up with researchers and inventors to transform disruptive technologies into game changing solutions and start-ups, through product development, venture building and fundraising. D1 will support the product development and increase the IRL towards the launch of the startup.
INOREVIA is an innovative French SME created in 2016 as a spin-off from the Institute Curie/CNRS. The company exploits two cutting-edge patented microfluidic technologies based on fluidised magnetic beads and magnetictweezers. Those disruptive technologies revolutionize automated biological sample preparation upstream of analysis steps, in research and clinical laboratories. INOREVIA will develop a prototype for EVs isolation and consumable chips suitable for mass production.
The Medical Center University of Freiburg, with around 12,000employees, is one of the largest university hospitals in Germany. It is committed to research, teaching and patient care as its core tasks, always with the aim of offering its patients treatment according to the latest scientific findings. The UKLFR has an established Comprehensive Cancer Center Freiburg, which was selected as one of the 13 top neurological centers in Germany, and is a member of the German Consortium for Translational Cancer Research.UKLFR will carry out the system’s clinical validation..
